No longer saddled with losses in its now-sold credit card division, and benefiting from a favorable interest rate spread, Home Federal Savings & Loan on Monday reported earnings of $26.6 million for the third quarter, up from $1.4 million in the like period last year. For the nine months, earnings rose 77% to $75.7 million. Home Federal’s assets increased 11.6% to $11.2 billion as of Sept. 30.
