Vandierendonc Wins Wheelchair Title

Chantal Vandierendonc of Holland defeated Fresno’s Michelle DesJarlais, 7-5, 6-4, Saturday to win the women’s open division of the U.S. Wheelchair Tennis Championships at the Racquet Club of Irvine.
In men’s semifinal action, Randy Snow of Fresno defeated Chip Parmelly of Pomona, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5, and Rick Slaughter of Nashville, Tenn., beat Brad Parks of Laguna Niguel, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3. Snow will play Slaughter today at noon for the championship.
