Point Loma Wins Cross-Country Meet

Point Loma Nazarene College’s men’s cross-country team won the college division of the Biola Invitational at La Mirada Saturday, placing three runners among the first 10 finishers.
UC Riverside’s Tim Watson was the college division individual winner with a time of 24:52. Denis Kiley, who placed fourth in 25:42, was Point Loma’s top runner, followed by teammate Cam Matson, who finished five seconds behind him. The Crusaders have won the men’s competition in the Biola meet’s college division nine of the last 11 years.
Renee Berecz of United States International University won the women’s competition in 17:50. Point Loma’s women’s team placed fourth in a field of 18 that was led by Cal State Bakersfield. Brenda Myers was Point Loma’s top woman finisher in 17th place.
