PREP FOOTBALL : Fullerton Runs Past Kennedy, 14-0

Fullerton High School, staying with its running game in the second half, scored a 14-0 victory over winless Kennedy Thursday night in a nonleague game at Fullerton District Stadium.
Fullerton’s touchdowns came on a 4-yard run by Richi Burrell in the third quarter and a 29-yard run by Mike Chacon early in the fourth.
Chacon led all rushers with 89 yards in 8 carries. Burrell’s score climaxed a 10-play, 66-yard drive. Chacon’s touchdown finished a 10-play, 89-yard series.
Fullerton (2-1) rushed for 184 yards in 45 attempts, with 156 in the second half. Fullerton had only 24 yards passing. Quarterback Aaron Acton competed 4 of 11 attempts, all in the first half.
Kennedy backup quarterback Brett Hepler, who started when Todd Bristow suffered a leg injury in pregame warmups, completed only 4 of 16 for 65 yards with 4 interceptions.
Kennedy’s only threat came midway through the second quarter when the Irish drove to the Fullerton 10. The drive stalled and kicker Richard Milne missed a 27-yard field goal try. Kennedy (0-3) got inside the Indian 30 only one other time, but the drive ended on an interception.
