A Pomona man that Los Angeles police described as “a major supplier” in the Van Nuys area was arrested early Sunday morning as he allegedly tried to sell drugs from the trunk of his car.
Robert Lee Johnson, 29, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. on the 9100 block of Sepulveda Boulevard after two uniformed Los Angeles police officers saw him attempt a sale, Sgt. Frank Guarino said.
The officers were on routine patrol when they saw Johnson make at least two transactions from his car, Guarino said.
They stopped Johnson a short time later and arrested him without incident, he said. The officers said they seized 87 grams of rock cocaine, a few grams of “black tar” heroin, a small amount of hashish, $500 and a loaded gun during the arrest, Guarino said.
