Charles Pearman Dies at 84; Founded Bank

Charles Ransom (Rans) Pearman, a founder of the Community Bank in 1945 and a longtime member of the state Fish and Game Commission, died Tuesday at age 84 in a Pasadena hospital.
Born into a banking family in Texas, he came with them to California more than 50 years ago and opened in Huntington Park the first of what would eventually be 15 Community Banks.
Pearman was vice chairman of the bank board at his retirement. He also was an avid fisherman and hunter and in 1967 was named by then Gov. Ronald Reagan to the first of two six-year terms on the state commission.
Survivors include two sisters.
