The Armenian Educational Foundation has established an endowed chair in modern Armenian history at UCLA with a $500,000 endowment. The Los Angeles-based foundation has been active since the 1950s, assisting elementary schools in the Middle East with programs in Armenian studies, and in the last two decades has begun placing more emphasis on supporting educational programs in the United States, according to a spokesman for the foundation.
