Soviet citizens have donated jewelry, works of art and cash to the special government fund set up to aid victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, State Bank Board Chairman Viktor Dementsev said. The fund, now totaling $700 million, was set up a few days after the April 26 disaster that so far has claimed 31 lives and forced the evacuation of over 100,000 people.
