House Votes to Create New Wildlife Preserve

WASHINGTON — The House on Monday voted to create a 43,000-acre San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area in southern Arizona.
The bill, passed by voice vote and sent to the Senate, would protect an area considered the most extensive remnant of waterside wildlife habitat in southern Arizona. The site also contains important paleontological, archeological and historical sites, according to the House Interior Committee.
