Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue--Try Again, Cadets
- Share via
The 73 cadets who began the Sheriff’s Academy were divided into two sections and asked to turn in mottoes for each group. Unhappy with the suggestions, Deputy John DeAngelis told the cadets in Section A to try again.

“Mess with the best; Get naked with the rest.”
“Roses are red; Violets are blue; Green are the terminator.” (Green is the Sheriff’s Department color.)
“A Section can’t be beat; we make criminals into dead meat.”
The winner was: “A Section on the scene; walking proud and feeling mean.”
