Chief Detective Slain

VADUZ, Liechtenstein — The chief detective in this tiny principality was shot to death Tuesday by a West German wanted for sexually assaulting a local woman, police said. Heinz Hassler, 51, was accompanying the woman to her apartment when the suspect opened the door and began firing, officers said.
