A 19-year-old woman, who was arrested for prostitution early Wednesday, told police officers that she had recently aborted a fetus and placed it in a trash bin, said Bill Robinson, San Diego police spokesman.
On the way to the County Jail at Las Colinas, Yolanda Buggs of San Diego told officers that she had placed a fetus in a trash bin and that she was bleeding, Robinson said.
Officers took Buggs to Paradise Valley Hospital, where she was treated and released.
Homicide detectives found a fetus in the 3600 block of Oceanview Boulevard, Robinson said. Police are waiting for a coroner’s report to determine whether additional charges will be filed.
