Malibu : Youths Will Bag Beach Litter
A litter pick-up program near two western Malibu beaches began Monday and will continue for the next 13 consecutive Mondays. Crews from Camp Fred C. Miller, operated by the Los Angeles County Probation Department for 13- to 17-year-olds, will bag litter at these sites near Westward and Zuma beaches: on lower Birdview Road, Westward Beach Road, lower Morningview Drive and a 1.5-mile stretch on both sides of Pacific Coast Highway by the Zuma Beach parking lot. Trash bags, T-shirts and sun visors are supplied by RecyCal of California. The program was organized by the Malibu Township Council. This is the fourth time the council and Camp Miller have worked together to clean up some of Malibu’s most heavily littered areas.
