UCLA, Pepperdine Volleyball Teams Win

Outside hitter Jeff Williams recorded 24 kills Thursday night to lead top-seeded UCLA to a 15-3, 15-10, 15-13 victory over Stanford in the semifinals of the NCAA men’s volleyball Western Regional at Loyola Marymount University.
The Bruins advanced to the regional final Saturday night against Pepperdine, which scored a 15-11, 15-13, 18-16 victory over Hawaii.
The Bruins (28-8) and Waves (19-7) have met three times this season, with Pepperdine winning twice. Saturday night’s match, also at Loyola, will start at 7:30.
The regional champion is expected to receive an at-large berth in the NCAA championships May 2-3 at Penn State. USC, Penn State and Ohio State have already gained spots in the tournament semifinals.
