Ground-breaking ceremonies were held Thursday for a 10-story, 150,000-square-foot addition to Palomar Memorial Hospital.
The $20-million tower will house the hospital’s open-heart surgery unit, an emergency room, operating rooms, intensive care units, a pharmacy, delivery rooms and other departments.
