Police found a 77-year-old Southeast San Diego man fatally wounded early Monday when they were summoned to the victim’s home several hours after neighbors heard gunfire, a spokesman said.
William Henry Cousin, of the 500 block of Sicard Street, was found about 6 a.m. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police spokesman Jan Nowakowski said.
Cousin was taken to Paradise Valley Hospital, where he died a short time later.
Nowakowski said neighbors admitted hearing shots sometime around 1 a.m. but that no one called police until four hours later. Police did not know why the neighbors waited so long to notify authorities. Police have no suspects.
