A San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy has been arrested on suspicion of killing his wife, who was eight months pregnant with twins, Sheriff Floyd Tidwell said. Deputy Sam Evans, 30, reported that a car had gone off California 18 and requested paramedics, Tidwell said. Later, the deputy told paramedics the victim was his wife, 25-year-old Jill Charisse Evans, Tidwell said. She was pronounced dead at Loma Linda Medical Center. The unborn twins did not survive. “Investigators at the scene observed irregularities and injuries on the victim which were inconsistent with the type that would occur as a result of the accident,” a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
