An 87-year-old Westminster woman died of apparent heart failure Saturday after the car she was in was struck broadside on McFadden Avenue near Beach Boulevard, Westminster police said.
The victim, Mildred Skoug, was a passenger in a car driven by her son, Loren C. Skoug, 62, of Westminster. Police Sgt. Larry Russell said Loren Skoug was turning left into a shopping center from eastbound McFadden at 11:25 a.m. and was struck by a westbound car.
Neither driver suffered major injury, Russell said. He said Mrs. Skoug’s heart stopped as paramedics were trying to assist her and she died at 12:39 p.m. at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, he said.
No one has been cited.
