The Newport Harbor Art Museum has received a $20,000 grant from Orange County to help underwrite transportation costs for schoolchildren’s visits.
The money, from the county’s revenue-sharing fund, was approved this week at the request of Supervisor Thomas F. Riley.
Under the tour program, more than 5,000 schoolchildren have seen the Wayne Thiebaud retrospective now at the museum, officials said. Part of the transportation costs for these children has been underwritten by the Irvine Co.
(The Thiebaud retrospective, which opened Dec. 11, runs through Sunday.)
