Laos Dig Yields Human Remains

BANGKOK, Thailand — Human remains and personal effects such as ID cards and “dog tags” have been found by a U.S.-Laotian team excavating the wreckage of an American warplane shot down in 1972 during the Vietnam War, a U.S. military spokesman said today.
The discoveries came in the early stages of the excavation in the southern Laos province of Savannakhet, which borders Thailand.
