Spaulding Leads BYU Women Past UCLA, 81-68

Junior center Tresa Spaulding had 34 points, 11 rebounds and 9 blocked shots Wednesday night to lead the Brigham Young women’s basketball team to an 81-68 victory over UCLA at Pauley Pavilion.
Spaulding, 6-7, made 14 of 18 shots as the Cougars raised their record to 13-8. Denise McIntire added 21 points for BYU.
Anne Dean led UCLA (10-15) with 23 points. Dora Dome had 14 points and seven rebounds, and Sue Mead had 11 points for the Bruins.
