President Ed Boling of the University of Tennessee said the school will make a thorough investigation into reports of football and basketball players receiving cash, free motel rooms and other gifts from boosters.
A retired innkeeper, Trent Richey, said earlier this week that he had given away $100,000 worth of rooms over the last 20 years to Tennessee athletes, coaches and their families.
