GIACOMINI CANCELS PERFORMANCE

SAN DIEGO — Tenor Giuseppe Giacomini has canceled his appearance in tonight’s San Diego Opera performance of “Otello.” The Italian singer, who has been suffering from a throat infection, will be replaced by American Richard Cassilly in the title role. Giacomini is expected to sing in the final Sunday performance.
