Monrovia : Bingo Permits OKd

The City Council has approved two requests for bingo permits, the first such requests in about 10 years, according to Don Hopper, director of community development.
Hopper said the Elks Club and Immaculate Conception Church have long had bingo permits but no other groups had sought them until last week, when Veterans of Foreign Wars, Arcadia/Monrovia Post, and the Monrovia High School Boosters Club, made their requests at the same City Council meeting.
The veterans group will hold games at 825 S. Magnolia Ave. and the boosters club at Santa Fe Middle School. Under the city’s code governing bingo permits, the groups are restricted to two games a week.
