Thompson Fetter, a longtime member of the Zoological Society of San Diego, has been elected to the Zoological Society’s 12-member board of trustees, board president Betty Jo Williams said.
Fetter joins the governing board of the 120,000-member Zoological Society for a three-year term, filling the position left open by the death of Sheldon Campbell in December. Trustees of the nonprofit Zoological Society meet monthly to determine policy and oversee development of the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park.
Fetter, 51, a San Diego native, served seven years as a trustee of the Reuben H. Fleet Space Theater and Science Center, including two terms as president.
