5 File for Council Races: Five candidates met the Jan. 30 filing deadline for the city’s April election, in which three City Council seats are up for grabs. Incumbents Gary L. Hausdorfer, a mortgage banker; Anthony L. Bland, a local businessman, and Mayor Phillip R. Schwartze, a city planner, announced last month that they are running for reelection. They will be joined in the race by Jean LaBurn, a local business owner, and Russell A. Neal II, a nuclear engineer.
