Empire League : Snow Scores 20 to Help Los Alamitos Remain Tied for Second Place

J.T. Snow scored 20 points and added 6 assists to help lead Los Alamitos High School to a 72-68 Empire League victory over Kennedy at Kennedy Friday night.

The Griffins had to overcome a six-point first-quarter deficit to remain tied with El Dorado for second place with an Empire record of 8-2.

Los Alamitos is 14-5 overall.

Moe Warner added 13 points and 14 rebounds, Chris Anderson had 13 points and 12 rebounds and Ryan Blossey scored 13 points for the Griffins.

Darrin Queen of the Fighting Irish led all scorers with 21 points, and Mike Keith added 16 points.

Kennedy is 4-6 and 8-11.

LOS ALAMITOS (72)--Snow 20, Schmitz 3, Warner 13, Blossey 13, Anderson 13, Treece 6, Loe 2, Bowen 2.

KENNEDY (68)--Keith 16, Curry 9, Davidson 4, Lauderdale 8, Queen 21, Howe 2, Hardy 8.

El Dorado 84, Esperanza 61--Jim Sammon and Rob Hanna combined for 43 points to keep the Golden Hawks in a second-place tie with Los Alamitos.

Sammon led all scorers with 22 points and had 11 assists and 9 rebounds. Hanna added 21 points, Dan Bailey scored 14 points and Herb Krapf added 13 points and 10 rebounds for El Dorado (16-4).

Kirk Branstetter led the Aztecs (2-8, 6-12) with 15 points, and Mike Vincent and John Burks both had 14.

Cypress 67, Pacifica 55--All five starters scored in double figures for the Centurions, who remained in third place with the win at home.

Mike Cote led Cypress (7-3, 12-9) with 16 points, and Ken Kawamura added 15. Steve Honda led the Mariners (2-8, 6-13) with 14 points.

Katella 86, Loara 43--Bob Erbst scored 26 points to lead the first-place Knights to an easy win at Loara.

Katella (9-1, 17-3) took a 21-3 lead after the first quarter and was never challenged by the Saxons (0-10, 0-17). Gary Miller led Loara with eight points.
