Tugging at the Heart Strings of Cat Lovers

William D. Lansford’s letter (Jan. 11) about the family cat, Pancho, was indeed touching. If humans would take the time they would discover all animals respond to kindness and love. They behave much like little children.

My love of animals and my contempt for the way in which most humans abuse animals has led me to reserve all my affordable charitable giving to the betterment of animal life. If the day ever comes when the human race abandons its barbarianism, then and only then will I show any compassion toward it.
