A 4-year-old girl who was splashed with acid at a public park returned to her La Habra home after a week of hospital treatment. At first, there had been concern that the child might lose her sight or have permanent facial scars, but authorities at St. Jude Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Fullerton said they doubt that little Rachel Ogawa “will have any further trouble from (burns on) her eyes or face.” The girl’s suspected assailant, Mark Edward Hand, 26, a former mental patient recently paroled from prison in Texas, is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond pending his arraignment Friday on two counts of aggravated assault with a caustic chemical.
