Kennedy to Meet Gorbachev

WASHINGTON — Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.) will travel to the Soviet Union at the end of this week to meet with Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev and other Soviet officials to discuss such issues as nuclear arms control and the progress of the Geneva talks, it was announced today.
Kennedy has accepted an invitation from the Soviet Parliament to spend three days in the Soviet Union, where he will discuss “a wide range of issues” with Gorbachev, the senator’s office said.
