Ingemar Stenmark of Sweden won his first World Cup slalom in two years, overcoming bad visibility and a painful back to overhaul first-leg leader Rok Petrovic of Yugoslavia at St. Anton, Austria.
Stenmark, second after the first heat, charged down the second run to clock a winning aggregate time of 1 minute 7.59 seconds and defeat Petrovic by 28/100ths of a second.
It was the 81st World Cup win for Stenmark who last won a slalom almost exactly two years ago at Parpan, Switzerland.
