Pitcher Dave Stewart of the Philadelphia Phillies said he has agreed to a two-year, $2-million contract to play in Japan for the Yomiuri Giants.
Stewart was 0-6 last season with a 5.42 earned-run average for the Texas Rangers and 0-0 and 6.23 for the Phillies.
He was obtained by the Rangers from the Dodgers in 1983 in a deal for pitcher Rick Honeycutt.
