SAN DIEGO — The Chargers are expected to announce today that Ron Lynn will assume the duties of defensive coordinator and secondary coach.
Lynn, 41, who has been defensive coordinator for the Oakland Invaders of the United States Football League, will replace Dave Adolph as San Diego’s defensive coordinator.
Adolph, who succeeded Tom Bass a month into the 1985 season, will become director of pro personnel, the position for which he was hired a year ago, according to sources.
It is expected that another member of the Invaders staff, Mike Haluchak, will replace Chuck Weber as coach of the Charger linebackers.
Lynn will handle the twin duties of coordinator and defensive backfield coach. Jim Wagstaff, who had been the secondary coach, was released recently.
The Chargers have not yet settled upon a successor to Marv Braden, who was dismissed as coach of special teams.
