Kevin Lockwood writes that Roger Ebert is “developing a girth that is the physical equivalent of ‘Berlin Alexanderplatz’. . . .” (Calendar Letters, Jan. 12).
Developing? Ebert has had that cute and cuddly girth since, at least, the PBS days.
Lockwood should be informed that one is attractive because of one’s mind and personality; a little extra girth means that there is more to hug. I hope that when Roger is in town he looks me up--I do not think he looks like a mud slide in the least; brown sweater or not.
