Mater Dei Is Still Ranked No. 1 in Prep Poll

Mater Dei High School, coming off an impressive 67-54 win over Capistrano Valley, remains the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep basketball poll.
The Monarchs have won 43 straight games over the past two seasons. Coach Gary McKnight recorded his 100th career victory against only 5 losses with a win over Westminster last Saturday night.
No. 10 Katella is making its first appearance in the poll.
