Doctors worked to save the life of a 10-year-old boy who spent two hours beneath the icy waters of a lake on Martha’s Vineyard, saying they “have not given up hope” despite the long odds for his survival. Jeffrey Goodale, whose heartbeat and body temperature have returned to normal, may be the first person to survive after two hours under water, said Martin Bander, a spokesman for Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
