Valley Classes Teach Skills of Fatherhood

Good Beginnings Parenting Center, 4901B Topanga Canyon, Woodland Hills, 91364. This private school offers father-child groups on the first Saturday of every month. Classes for fathers and children 3 months to 3 years old, are $10 each. The school, which is open all year, also offers classes for mothers and working parents. Kennedy-San Fernando Community Adult School offers classes for fathers at its Rinaldi Campus, 17450 Rinaldi St., Northridge, 91326, for fathers with children 9 months to 4 1/2 years old. Class meets the second Saturday of every month. Cost is $2.50 for a 20-week semester (five classes). New semester begins Feb. 8, 1986. School also offers classes for mothers and working parents. Stephen S. Wise Temple Parenting Center, 15500 Stephen S. Wise Drive, Los Angeles, 90077, offers “Saturday With Father” classes each Saturday for fathers and children 3 months to 4 years old. The cost for six weeks is $90 for temple members, $105 for non-members, with sliding-scale discounts available. Spring semester begins Feb. 1, 1986. Temple Valley Beth Shalom, 15739 Ventura Blvd., Encino, 91436, offers a “Daddy And Me” program for fathers and children 1 to 2 1/2. Twice-a-month classes meet Sunday mornings. A four-month semester costs $80 for temple members, $100 for non-members. Spring semester begins Feb. 2, 1986. The temple also offers weekday classes for parents of infants and toddlers.
