L.A. Sanctuary Resolution

In voting sanctuary for political refuges of Guatemala and El Salvador, eight members of the Los Angeles City Council delivered one of the strongest messages yet to those people who refuse to acknowledge the truth of what is really happening in Central America.
As long as our national policy continues to support and encourage leadership in these countries that threaten their citizens’ safety and force them to run for their lives, we will be called to care for their human needs. The council’s action was a great boost to thousands and thousands of law-abiding American citizens of conscience working in the Sanctuary Movement.
