The Chicago International Film Festival, already notorious for its erotic posters (Outtakes, Oct. 20), is really stretching for a movie connection with its latest mail-order item: a $45 terry robe, complete with festival logo (pictured here).
In tracing the history of the Turkish terry robe, a festival press release calls it “a cinematic symbol of elegance and sophistication (which) made its way to the silver screen on the backs of Hollywood’s leading luminaries--Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, Katharine Hepburn and Cole Porter.”
