Cal Lutheran Opens Basketball Season

The Cal Lutheran College basketball team opens its season tonight at 6 when the Kingsmen take on Cal State San Bernardino in the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Tip-Off Tournament in Claremont.
The Master’s College (1-1) plays Claremont at 8 p.m. The winners of tonight’s games will play for the championship Saturday at 8 p.m. The losers will play consolation games at 6 p.m.
Cal Lutheran Coach Ed Anderson is hoping his team can improve on last season’s 8-25 record.
Steve Cotner is Cal Lutheran’s tallest player at 6-7. He led the team in rebounding last season and averaged 12.1 points a game.
Master’s College is led by senior forward Duane Lawrence, who scored 19 points in the team’s victory Tuesday over Life Bible College.
