Santa Monica Opposes RTD Proposals

The Santa Monica City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to oppose proposals for a Southern California Rapid Transit District bus maintenance yard on a five-acre site at Olympic Boulevard and Centinela Avenue or a seven-acre site at Olympic and Stewart Street.
The two Santa Monica sites are among six sites being considered by RTD officials, who are moving their Venice bus yard. Councilman Herbert Katz said the city already has its own municipal bus line station and the neighborhood impact is “horrendous.”
