Rights Protesters Continue Seoul Sit-in

SEOUL, South Korea — More than 100 dissidents on Tuesday staged a sit-in for a second day to protest alleged torture of political prisoners held by the government.
A spokesman for the protesters said the sit-in, which will last until Wednesday, is part of a campaign to promote human rights in South Korea.
The protesters are among 264 opposition lawmakers and dissident leaders who recently formed a human rights organization called the Committee Against Torture and Fabricated Pro-Communists.They allege that dissidents arrested for anti-government activities have been subject to torture to obtain false confessions that they are Communists or pro-Communists.
