Victims’ Survivors Invited to MADD
Survivors of friends or relatives who were killed by a drunk driver are encouraged to attend a meeting sponsored by Mothers Against Drunk Drivers on Nov. 21.
The meeting is designed to offer support and suggestions to survivors, many of whom are going through the court process, said Jane Fawyer, a MADD spokeswoman.
“If you close the feelings about the death in, it will turn into a cancer and eat you up,” she said. “At these meetings, the people can get help from somebody else who has gone through the experience.”
Because survivors of deaths caused by drunk driving are often “the forgotten victims,” Fawyer said, MADD encourages these people to seek help through these meetings. People injured by drunk drivers are also welcome.
The meeting will be held at the home of Dr. Garry White, 2536 Collier Ave., San Diego.
