Ex-Marquette Star Toone Is Arrested

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Former basketball star Bernard Toone, a member of Marquette University’s 1977 national championship team, was arrested Friday for the second time in less than a year, White Plains police said.
Toone, 29, who played with the Philadelphia 76ers in 1979-80, was arrested at 2:55 p.m. for allegedly stealing a radio from a 1985 Saab in a municipal parking structure at Martine Avenue and Conroy Street, Police said. Toone, of Yonkers, was charged with third-degree grand larceny.
