Tailback Tony Cherry, the leading rusher in the Pacific 10, will miss Oregon’s nonconference football game Saturday against San Jose State. The 5-6 senior has been bothered by a pulled abdominal muscle for several weeks.
“He doesn’t have the same speed and quickness he had a couple of weeks ago,” Coach Rich Brooks said. “He shouldn’t play this week, and then we have an off week to help him heal further.”
