Dial-a-Ride service in Pasadena has been increased to seven days a week on an interim basis under a plan approved Monday by the Board of City Directors.

Door-to-door rides for the elderly and handicapped will now be offered Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no service on holidays.

While voting to extend the service until March 31, the board delayed action on providing a permanent Dial-a-Ride program pending the formation of a citizen’s advisory commission on transportation. Directors said Monday that the commission would study the shuttle service, which began a year ago as a temporary program, to determine if it should be made permanent.
