Reagan Invites 6 Allied Leaders to Pre-Summit Talks

WASHINGTON — President Reagan has invited leaders of six leading industrial nations to meet with him Oct. 24 in New York in advance of his meeting with Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev, the White House said today.
Reagan and Gorbachev are to meet in Geneva on Nov. 19 and 20.
Those invited to the New York meeting are the leaders of West Germany, Britain, France, Italy, Japan and Canada.
Deputy Press Secretary Edward Djerejian said Reagan wants to discuss military, economic and political issues with the allies in advance of the U.S.-Soviet summit.
Djerejian said that Reagan will host a dinner in honor of the leaders.
The President will be in New York on Oct. 23-24 to participate in the 40th anniversary celebration of the United Nations. He will also deliver a major address before the world organization.
