WARWICK, R.I. — An American Airlines jet carrying 160 passengers was forced to abort its takeoff on a flight to Chicago after hitting a flock of Canada geese, officials said.
Flight 137, a Boeing 727, began its departure from T. F. Green Airport shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when it hit the birds. The pilot slowed the plane and taxied back to the terminal. The flight was canceled because of damage to a wing flap.
