A 22-year-old Simi Valley man was being held Wednesday in connection with the Monday night killing of another man outside a bar.
The suspect, Tracy William Mancinelli, is accused of stabbing Ralph Churchman, 47, several times in the chest behind the Regency Lounge on Los Angeles Avenue, authorities said.
Mancinelli was being held on suspicion of murder at the Ventura County sheriff’s jail in Ventura. His bail has been set at $250,000, Simi Valley Detective Pat Hopkins said.
Mancinelli was arrested at about 6 p.m. Tuesday after police officers, acting on a tip, flushed him from a house in the 9400 block of Helene Street. He jumped out a window and was chased through the backyards of several houses. He was found lying under a bed of ivy behind a house, Hopkins said.
A knife was found nearby, Hopkins said. He said Mancinelli has been linked to the slaying by an eyewitness.
Hopkins said Mancinelli and Churchman did not know each other and that the motive for the killing is not known.
