There’s more to Merv Griffin than meets the eye. Not only is he the host of TV’s long-running syndicated “Merv Griffin Show,” but his Merv Griffin Enterprises produces 15 1/2 hours of original programming weekly, including “Wheel of Fortune,” “Jeopardy,” “Dance Fever” and the upcoming syndicated series, “Headline Chasers.”
Away from the world of television, Griffin pulls on cowboy boots and breeds Arabian horses at his Southern California ranch. His pal Tecolote (with him on the cover) has received 100 winning ribbons and is one of his 15 Arabians.
Griffin is celebrating his 30th year in television this year. His talk show airs Monday through Friday at 9 p.m. on KTTV Channel 11, and will move to 11:30 p.m. Sept. 9.
